| you are wrong about how a critical system works. the wastegates open when they get boost pressure greater then the internal pressure of the spring on the diaphram. What this means is that if your lines are not hooked up properly and holding pressure (no leaks) then your wastegates will not open and run at maximum boost. This will almost surely kill your engine. if you do a poor job installing a boost controller you will overboost and likely suffer catastrophic failure. Any time you mess with the wastegate hoses, do it right, use the right hose, route it carefully and away from things that could melt it, and secure it. Your engine depends on it.
